BowlsWales has today announced that Richard Palmer is stepping down from his role as Chair of BowlsWales and the board, following completion of his three years term of office. We thank Richard for his leadership, support and advice. Richard has made a huge contribution to BowlsWales and we hope he acknowledges that our achievements so far would not have been possible without him.
Katy Evans, our Sport Wales Relationship Manager said “Richard has worked tirelessly over the past three years in leading Bowls Wales through some significant changes in a bid to help the sport progress its governance and leadership. We thank Richard for his contribution and look forward to working with the Board as the organisation progresses into its next era.”
Meanwhile, BowlsWales Board has appointed Simon Colwill as Interim Chair. Simon said “I would like to thank my fellow board members for this opportunity. As interim Chair my aim is to build on the work we’ve already started, and to continue our collaboration and partnerships with the NGBs for the benefit of Bowls in Wales.”
The BowlsWales board will now look to undertake a competency-based approach to fulfil the appointment of Independent Chair.
