Wales produced their best ever performance in a Home Nations Disability Bowls event when despite finishing third behind England and Scotland at Solihull the standard of play by most of the Welsh players was of a high standard, a point not overseen by England and Scotland management and players who were both impressed by the improvement of our National team.
Swansea’s Toby Warren returned 3 wins and a draw from his 4 matches and was closely followed by Ffrith duo Kevin and Babs Woolmore who both had 3 wins and a defeat. Cardiff’s Allan Jones directed by Murray MacDonald teamed up with Warren to win on 2 occasions and battled to a draw in a high quality contest against England.
There were plenty of other encouraging performances especially after the opening session against England.
