WCGBA- Welsh Champion of Champions
The 2024 Welsh Champion of Champions competition was held on Sunday 22nd of September at New Brighton Bowling Club. This popular end of season knock out was hosted by President Pauline Lindley and Members of the WCGBA Management were there giving their usual support throughout the day. Referees included Arthur Peake, Peter Higham, Alan Davies and Peter Hughes. In the first four matches, there were no run-away leads in the soggy conditions. WCGBA- Welsh Club Championship
WELSH CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The Welsh Club Championships were held at Hawkesbury Bowling Club on Sunday 15th September. The four teams competing were Esclusham, Broughton, Llanrwst and Rhos Park – each winners of their area’s County Cups. Three of the four clubs have won this contest previously. In the first round groups Llanrwst played Esclusham, with Esclusham taking 6 winners from the eight to be played. The best of those wins was Nick Jones 21-7 over Mike Pritchard. The closing scores were Esclusham 152, Llanrwst 114. Rhos Park and Broughton were the second group. Broughton lead with five winners over Rhos

WCGBA Mixed Pairs
The 2024 Mixed Pairs Competition was held on Sunday 25th August at Rhuddlan BC. President, Pauline Lindley hosted the event and members of the WCGBA Management were on had to assist in the running of the competition. WCGBA Welsh Junior Merit
The Welsh Junior Merit was held on Sunday 28th July at a very sunny Craig-y-Don Bowling Club, Llandudno. Our host County of Gwynedd represented by former President Dave Mathis, introduced everyone there, including members of the WCGBA along with the players and their families. This year we had a field of 17 entrants. Most, if not all those taking part are Welsh Junior Squad players. British Ladies Merit
One of our all time greats did it again. On Saturday 13th July in Cumbria, Linda Williams won the British Ladies Merit. This title was one that eluded her for a number of years. However, in 2012 she took the title and did it again this year. In the first round she beat Sue Gawne from the Isle of Man 21-15. She was in more devastating form for her second game winning 21-8 over Samantha Murrey from Staffordshire.. Another 21-8 in the last 16 and Linda was comfortably in the quarter finals. Welsh Individual Senior Merit- WCGBA
The 2024 Welsh Individual Senior Merit competition took place on Sunday 23rd June. This year it was held at Coedpoeth BC, our President’s Club, and their Centenary year. President, Pauline Lindley hosted the day with other members of the WCGBA. The guests included the BCGBA President Frank James. WCGBA 2024 Welsh Vet’s Merit
The 2024 Welsh Vet’s Merit was held at Rhos on Sea Bowling Club on Wednesday 12th June. As this is the Immediate Past President’s day, our host was Jack Hunt. Members of the WCGBA Management were on hand to run the competition, as usual, and they were helped by Referees DT Evans, Alan Davies and Arthur Peake. Sunday 20th May saw the 2024 Welsh Ladies Individual Merit competition at Brymbo BC. In attendance was our President, Pauline Lindley and other members of the WCGBA management, all there to support the first merit of the season. WCGBA Ladies Champion of Champions
We have a few things to be proud of this year, especially the ladies. Wales has the British Junior Ladies Champion for the second season in a row with Jess Lacey’s recent win at Heswall. We can also congratulate Linda Williams for getting to the final of the Ladies Champion of Champions on Sunday 1st October at Monk’s Sports and Social Club, Warrington. Linda, who has won this event twice ( 2010 and 2018) had a good run of games throughout the days’ play. She won 21-1 over Helen Clee in the first round then a 21-17 over Louise Ollerton
