Over the weekend the Welsh Gents Under 25 international team competed at the British Isles Gents Junior International Series at County Antrim Indoor Bowling Club, Belfast. The team played England, Scotland and Ireland.
The team was led by Team Manager S Jackson, Welsh President B Broad and Team Captain N Rees.
O Lebreton, C Davies and L Thomas received their first Welsh caps during the series. While experienced player E Hughes was recalled into the team, D Peregrine was also recalled into the team.
Wales were defeated by a strong Scotland side in the opening match 51-89, following four rink loses. During the afternoon session Wales played England and were defeated overall by a narrow margin of 3 shots 69-72, with three rink loses and one win. Notably in the England game the rink of J Mounty, C Davies, E Hughes and R Davies pulled away with an impressive winning rink score of 29-14. Sunday morning the Welsh gents faced Ireland and were defeated by 21 shots overall, with a scoreline of 62-83. The rink of L Thomas, C Bayliss, B Matthews and E Humphreys recorded a win of 18-14 while the other three rinks were defeated.

Congratulations to Scotland who took home the Brimble Trophy for a 3rd consecutive season.
