BowlsWales is the newly formed coordinating body for bowls in Wales and is about to embark on an exciting and stimulating period of development. Our range of activities cover the whole of the sport, from early development through to competition on the world stage. Wales already excels on the world stage and we are looking for a talented and passionate individual to lead our activities in respect of our performance pathways, ensuring the right preparation and talent development for our most gifted players and to ensure that our teams and individuals are fully prepared for competition against the world’s best.

Bowls reaching out to the Community

The need for clubs reaching out into community events has never been greater, and there are some great examples of this happening across Wales to promote our sport. At a recent ageing well event at the Grand Theatre in Swansea, organised by the Local Authority and partners, Swansea Indoor Bowls Club successfully hosted an information stand aimed at attracting new members. Winning ways for Welsh Juniors

Top juniors decended on Newport Indoor Bowls Club last week for the World Indoor Bowls Council’s World under 25 Championships. The three day event saw top players from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, Isle of Man, Gurnsey and Canada vying it out for the three titles up for grabs. It was a stunning campaign for the Welsh U25’s with Wales featuring in all finals and winning two of the three titles.  Amy Williams’ title triumph came courstey of a 8-2, 5-4 win over current World indoor Champion Chloe Watson (Ireland).
