Celebration and Friendships in Cardiff while Scotland storm through to take title!!! The Learning Disability Indoor Bowls International Series Management team, athletes, coaches and volunteers descended on Cardiff this week. After the event being postponed, due to the covid 19 pandemic a total of three times, the LDIBIS event for the Munro Cup finally went ahead. Review of Bowls in Wales

On behalf of BowlsWales and the National Governing Bodies for the Indoor, Outdoor, Short Mat and Crown Green forms of the game, I am pleased to announce that we have commissioned an independent review of the sport in Wales. This will be a wide ranging and independent review, covering multiple areas including: Governance Structure Communications Safeguarding Development Performance Coaching and officiating PR and marketing Equality, diversity and inclusion We have commissioned Counsel Ltd (www.counselltd.com) to undertake the review on our behalf. Welsh Learning Disability Indoor Bowls Pairs Championship

On Sunday 20th February, 40 bowlers took to the green at Cardiff Indoor Bowls Club to compete for three Classifications titles in the Welsh Learning Disability Pairs Championship 2022. Well done to all competitors who took part in this competition, despite the awful weather conditions, all the entrants arrived safely.  Some tremendous bowling was witnessed by over 90 Bowlers, Volunteers, Coaches and supporters.  Bowlers from Pembroke, Radnorshire, Islwyn, Rhondda and Cardiff Chameleons, took part in round robin competitions in three separate classifications. The winners and runner-up in each Classification going on to the Semi-Finals and Finals to determine the Welsh Champions.

Welsh Government announcement 28/01/2022

Following the Welsh Government announcement this afternoon, from 28th January, restrictions to outdoor events and gatherings will be removed as Wales completes move to Alert level 0. • From 28th January, Wales will return to Alert Level 0, meaning there will be no restrictions on gathering or number limits for indoor activity • Clubs and operates must still carry out a COVID risk assessment of your club or facility in order to mitigate the risk of spreading Coronavirus • Face-covering rules will remain in force with the exception of hospitality settings such as restaurants, pubs, cafes and nightclubs • The

Welsh Government announcement 14/01/2022

Following the Welsh Government announcement this afternoon, from 15th January, restrictions to outdoor events and gatherings will change, where by 500 people can participate and 500 can spectate. Other dates to highlight are the following; • From 22nd January, Outdoor Restrictions will return to Alert Level 0 • From 28th January, Wales will return to Alert Level 0, meaning there will be no restrictions on gathering or number limits for indoor activity – This is on the condition if the downward trend of cases continues • Clubs and operates must still carry out a COVID risk assessment of your club

Welsh Government announcement 22/12/2021

Following the Welsh Government announcement this afternoon, Wales will move to Alert Level 2 from Sunday 26th December at 6am. (Wales Coronavirus Control Plan – https://gov.wales/coronavirus-control-plans ). This will result in regulations being reintroduced, which will include the following; • 2-meter social distance must be maintained at all times • Face masks to be worn inside • One-way systems in facilities and clubs have to be put in place • A limit on gathering and organised activities – maximum 30 people indoors and 50 people outdoor • No spectators permitted • Implement a Track & Trace system • Carry out

The BowlsWales staff team will be taking a break over the Christmas period. Wear a face covering inside – This can be taken off while on the green Carry out a COVID risk assessment of your club or facility Ensure good hygiene by having cleaning stations around the club Communicate all COVID procedures to your members You can find guidance on the BowlsWales and the National Governing Bodies websites, which is monitored regularly in line with any Welsh Government restrictions.

BowlsWales is the national coordinating body for the sport of Bowls in Wales covering Indoor, Outdoor, Short Mat and Crown Green Bowls. Our role is to promote bowls as a lifetime sport for all.
