The new year is off to a busy start for Welsh Indoor Bowls with a series of International and National Competitions being held across January.

With only 1 day to go until the start of the 2023 World Indoor Bowls Championships, Welsh Indoor Bowls have four representatives at Potters this year. Jason Greenslade, Daniel Salmon, Damian Doubler and Ceri Ann Glen, all four are members of Cardiff Indoor Bowls Club. Jason is in the singles and pairs, he is playing with Michael Stepney from Scotland in the pairs. Daniel and Damian are in the pairs having qualified through the PBA Welsh Qualifier held in Newport. Ceri Ann, also plays out of Cardiff and is a Welsh International.

Also starting  on Friday 6th January, is the WIB series of semi-finals and finals at Merthyr IBC, starting at 2pm. In action are the over 60s fours quarter finals, followed by the Under 25s singles quarter-finals at 6.30pm. Then on Saturday afternoon, 2pm, the Under 17s and Under 19s singles finals and over 60s four semi- finals are being played. The weekend is rounded up on Sunday starting at 11am with the over 60s fours final and the Under 25s singles semi-finals and final.
