Joanna Owen Appointed Chief Executive

BowlsWales is pleased to share that Joanna Owen has been appointed as our new Chief Executive, taking up the role from July 2026.

Joanna joined BowlsWales in November 2025 as General Manager, and in that time has made a real impact across the organisation — from strategic planning and safeguarding to preparations for the Commonwealth Games and the development of our new Strategy 2026–2030, Renewed. Rooted. Relevant.

Joanna also represents BowlsWales on the executive committee of the Welsh NGB CEO Forum, working alongside other national governing bodies on shared priorities across the Welsh sport sector.

Richard Jones, Chair of BowlsWales, said:
