Inverclyde Indoor Bowls Club (Glasgow) hosted the Under 18 Mixed British Isles Championships in early October. The two day event saw top teams from teams from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales compete across all disciplines – Singles, Pairs, Triples & Fours. Wales had a very successful trip to Glasgow coming home with two Bronze Medals and a Silver Medal. Fours silver medallists: Tom Sims, Jack Mounty, Oliver Witchell and Tegan Rees. Congratulations to the junior team from Rhondda Indoor Bowls Club who were recently crowned the inaugural champions of the new WIBA Frantic Five competition. The inaugural Frantic Five competition took place on Sunday 8th April at Radnorshire Indoor Bowls Club. The competition was organised by the WIBA to encourage young bowlers to play competitively in a team environment, whilst having fun and embracing the spirit of the game. Top juniors decended on Newport Indoor Bowls Club last week for the World Indoor Bowls Council’s World under 25 Championships. The three day event saw top players from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, Isle of Man, Gurnsey and Canada vying it out for the three titles up for grabs. It was a stunning campaign for the Welsh U25’s with Wales featuring in all finals and winning two of the three titles.
