IIBC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AT MERTHYR
Welsh players fared well in the IIBC World Bowls Championships at Merthyr Tydfil with 18 year old Jack Breen finishing runner up to Scotland’s Stewart Anderson in the Mens Singles event and there was also a runners up spot for Newport’s Kerry Packwood and Port Talbot star Mike Brain in the Mixed Pairs competition. Islwyn’s Amy Williams reached the semi final of the Ladies Singles competition and Merthyr Tydfil’s Pauline Price reached the last four in the Mixed Pairs event giving Wales 2 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze.

Sunday 31st March saw the crowning of three Welsh Learning Disabilities Indoor Bowls Champions. L1 Classification – Cameron White ( Heatherton and Special Olympics West Wales) L2 Classification – Millie Campbell (Cardiff Chameleons and SO Cardiff and Vale) L3 Classification – John Lister (Radnorshire IBC ) Well done to all 36 competitors who took part in the first Welsh Learning Disability Indoor Bowls Singles Championship. Some tremendous bowling was witnessed by almost 90 competitors, supporters and officials at Cardiff Indoor Bowls Club on Sunday 31st March 2019.
