Performance Group Independent Chair

BowlsWales is the coordinating body for bowls in Wales. The group are looking for expressions of interest to recruit an Independent Chair to lead the Performance Group. The role will include working to key performance indicators as set by the Board of Directors to ensure clear pathways to success for the sport on the elite stage, and that we achieve required objectives as set out in the conditions of the Sport Wales funding.

We are looking for a passionate individual to lead and support the groups activities in respect of performance pathways, preparation and talent development and to ensure that the Welsh teams and individuals are fully prepared for competition against the world’s best.

The Performance Group meet online via zoom once every month at present. Some duties may be required outside of the meetings but are dependent on time and commitment.

A keen eye for detail, the ability to influence and work with the National Governing bodies and associations and a passion to develop and embed a performance culture at the top level will be key to this post. If you would like to drive forward the ambitions of the sport, have experience with leading on Performance Pathway and are able to volunteer your time to ensure bowls in Wales is performing to the highest standard, please  send  an  expression  of  interest,  providing  details  of  your  experience  and outlining what you would bring to the role, to Sophie.hancocks@bowlswales.com by Monday 11th October.

Experience of bowls is not necessary, but we are looking for individuals with experience, resilience and drive to support the group in delivering our ambitions.

We will hold meetings with interested individuals shortly after this date.
