Alun Jones announces his departure as Chair of BowlsWales

BowlsWales has today announced that Alun Jones is stepping down from his role as Chair of BowlsWales and the board, following completion of his three years term of office. Alun was a key member of the Steering Committee that successfully delivered the transition from the Welsh Bowls Federation to the formation of BowlsWales in 2017 and since then has worked tirelessly alongside bowls organisations and individuals throughout the country to promote our sport. WELSH GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS NO RESUMPTION OF BOWLS IN WALES AT PRESENT BowlsWales asked the Welsh Government over the weekend to confirm the situation regarding the resumption of bowls activities in Wales, given its absence from the weekly statement last Friday afternoon 29 May and the First Minister’s subsequent interview on S4C that evening. The Welsh Government has confirmed today (Monday 1 June) to BowlsWales that the restrictions on a number of outside activities such as bowls have not been lifted and therefore remain in force.
