Welsh Government fire-break announcement – 19th October 2020

The Welsh Government have announced that they will introduce a two week “fire-break” national lockdown from 6:00pm on Friday, 23 October. This will last until the early hours of Monday, 9 November. Articles Review

Regular review of the Company Articles is a normal part of any good governance process, as the BowlsWales Company was set up in June 2017 now was a good time for the review to take place. It was agreed that an Articles Review Working Group comprising of representatives from the Members and the Board would undertake a full review and make recommendations. The group had support from Sport Wales, the BowlsWales General Manager and a governance consultant. The resulting document has not changed significantly but has changed in some key areas. Richard Bowen steps down as a Director of BowlsWales

Richard Bowen has stepped down from the board of BowlsWales, having decided not to renew his Directorship following the expiry of his three year term. Ken Burton, Chair of BowlsWales, commented “Richard has been an excellent Director, and he has made an outstanding contribution to BowlsWales since its establishment in 2017. We are sorry that he has decided to stand down.” Everyone at BowlsWales would like to thank Richard for his contribution over the years and his dedication to the sport of bowls.
