WCGBA British Junior Boys and Girls

What an amazing outing it turned out to be for some of our young bowlers at the BCGBA Junior Ladies and BCGBA Boys Individual merits at Owley Wood on Saturday 6th of September. Wales fielded an impressive eight players in this extension to the junior calendar with the introduction of an individual merit for the boys this year. The Welsh Crown Green’s current Deputy President, Peter Higham was presented with a gift, by British President, Lesley Allen at the event for a life time of achievement in crown green bowls and in recognition of his services to administration, he is now a Life member of the British Crown Green Bowling Association. The Welsh Crown Green Junior Merit

The Welsh Crown Green Junior Merit was held at Hawkesbury Bowling Club on Sunday 27th July. 2025 It was disappointing to see only thirteen entries on this, the Deputy President’s day. With school holidays and other bowls events on locally and further afield numbers were well down, and it is hoped things will change for next year. Referees on the day were Peter Hughes and Richard Haywood, admirably assisted by club members. President, Pauline Lindley, Management members, Dusia Price, Sandra and Ron West, Organisers Simon Walker, Ashley Zepeda and Patron John Percy also came to support the day. In round

He gave the meeting an update on how Bowls Wales is aiming to develop in the future and is looking forward to a strong relationship with all codes of bowls. He was treated to personal experience of the Crown Green sport when Development Officer, Simon Walker took him onto the green. He found
