On Sunday 20th February, 40 bowlers took to the green at Cardiff Indoor Bowls Club to compete for three Classifications titles in the Welsh Learning Disability Pairs Championship 2022. Well done to all competitors who took part in this competition, despite the awful weather conditions, all the entrants arrived safely. Some tremendous bowling was witnessed by over 90 Bowlers, Volunteers, Coaches and supporters. Bowlers from Pembroke, Radnorshire, Islwyn, Rhondda and Cardiff Chameleons, took part in round robin competitions in three separate classifications. The winners and runner-up in each Classification going on to the Semi-Finals and Finals to determine the Welsh Champions.

LDIBIS Full steam ahead for Cardiff.
The Learning Disability Indoor Bowls International Series Management team and the athletes and volunteers are ready to rock and roll in Cardiff in April. WELSH CROWN GREEN BOWLING ASSOCIATION LADIES MERIT FINAL 2021.
The 2021 Ladies Merit Final was held on Sunday 25th July at Mancot BC as part of the Events Research Programme due to the Covid 19 pandemic situation. This was the last event undertaken as part of the programme for 2021. Despite greatly reduced numbers at all of the Merits this year, those who have entered and come along to support have enjoyed the experience of bowling again and have helped tremendously by their patience and consideration of the rules on hygiene and social distancing. WELSH CROWN GREEN BOWLING ASSOCIATION JUNIOR MERIT 2021.
Sunday 11th July 2021 and it was the turn of the Welsh Juniors to step up for this years’ Merit. The event was held at Highbury BC, Prestatyn and hosted by 2021 Deputy President of the WCGBA, Jack Hunt – no stranger at the top of the game, having won the Welsh Senior Merit, The British Senior Merit and Crown King in the same year back in 1979. The Welsh Club Championship 2019 was held on Sunday 15th September at Grove Park BC, Rhyl. This year the clubs were Coed Talon, Llay, Min Y Don and Blaenau Ffestiniog, all winners of their Area Cups. WCGBA President, Dave Mathias was our host along with Deputy Simon Walker and other Members of the WCGBA Management. The referees were DT Evans, Alan Davies and Arthur Peake. New Event Confirmed for Learning Disability Bowlers!
Learning Disabilities within indoor bowls needed a yearly event to galvanise countries and athletes and so the Learning Disabilities Indoor Bowls International Series (LDIBIS) was born.
